A solid metal base prevents tipping and rises only two inches in height, thereby sliding easily under sofas and couches.
Although the Trilage doesn't dim, it features a rotary switch on the main pole that lets you opt for illuminating one, two, or all three lights in turn. Turn once to bring up the right shade only. This gives you the ambiance mood lighting you want, even without a dimmer. Turn again, and the right goes out while the left and center lights come up. This gives you enough light to read comfortably by. Turn a third time, and all 3 lights will be illuminated.
