I've never owned a tabletop ice maker, so I was sort of winging it and hoping for the best. This thing is awesome though - just what I was hoping it was. We use ice for virtually everything - sodas, ice tea, ice coffee, water, juices, you name it. And we have a built-in ice maker in the refrigerator. However, I'm just not a fan of "line" water. There's just no viable way to keep a tap line running into the fridge clean, so I wanted something portable that I can use spring water with. This allows just that, and it works wonderfully. It starts piling up ice VERY fast and is full in virtually no time. I couldn't be more pleased with the form and function of this.
