I bought this for my son as a midway point between a compact camera/phone and a full-size SLR so that he would have something that would not take up too much space in a backpack/daypack and yet would give image quality that was comparable. He has had the camera for almost a year now and it has held up very well. Two hunting trips and a vacation later, it is working without a hitch. 

 

The image quality is excellent and I am thinking about getting one for myself for those times when I do not need all the features of my Canon 5D. I realize that there is a large trend to use phones for everything and while the cameras on them have improved a lot, they cannot compare to a quality SLR and they never will - physics is simply physics. Having a high quality but compact camera does have its place and when you are trying to save every ounce (g), then something like this has a place. The controls are easy to use and while I have always been a Canon person, that biases me a little but I do not think anyone would be disappointed with this camera and I highly recommend it.
