If
you're like most people and don't want to spend that much, this review
won't make sense if you factor in cost comparison where the value
proposition typically presented with PC vs Mac is shown. I own an $800
15 inch HP Envy with AMD's ryzen 5 and honestly, I wish I bought two
apple MacBooks. The HP Envy is a well reviewed laptop and I like
it...fine but the Apple is just better. I know that I should be
comparing it to a similarly priced PC but come on...not many buy PC's
that are in the price range of an Apple for regular use.
Now with
that said, the Apple has a great all around build--keyboard, speaker,
screen (though not as good as the HP Envy) and overall cohesiveness. I
can't comment on the battery life as it's 95% usually plugged in but it
has kept a charge of a day of casual use.
I originally bought
this because of a Mac only software needed for work. I would have been
fine if it weren't for that software. Would I buy it again? Not sure... I
liked spending $800 as well. The regret of keeping that $300 is much
more important than really loving my laptop.
